Short Description

Tackle for Loss is a difficult 2D top-down action game where Hotline Miami meets American Football: limited moves, no room for error, all forward momentum. You play as a former football pro, haunted by concussions, fighting through a violent underworld to save his daughter.

About the game

Tackle for Loss is a 2D top-down action game built around a combat system inspired by American football’s four-down rule: limited moves, no room for error, all forward momentum. You play as a former football pro—bruised, broken, and battling through a criminal underworld to rescue your beloved daughter. Haunted by concussions, your only tools are raw instinct and the muscle memory of a game that no longer remembers you.

Violent combat, a captivating narrative, and dark pixel art combine to create a pumped-up experience, inspired by the likes of Hotline Miami.

Tackle for Loss is being solo-developed by Daniel Wichterich / Indifferent Penguin and will be released Q4 2025, for Windows PC. It is supported by funding from the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, a German film and media funding agency.
